Over the next 10-15 years, the population of Americans aged 65 years or older will more than double to 78 million people (23% of the US population). For the first time in U.S. history, older people will outnumber children.
This extraordinary growth will bring demand for new facilities and services to satisfy the unique needs of the elderly and their families. More than ever we will need to find new ways to disrupt the status quo for the future of the aging. In order to do this, we will need to focus our efforts on leaders creating leaders who are willing to communicate and innovate, housing that is affordable and meets the needs of the growing population as well as grow and retain a workforce that is knowledgeable and proficient to produce individualized quality of care that celebrates life.
